Do I need a transformer to the lights of the track?
I recently purchased a lighting track to a new home from Pottery Barn – is 120 volts. Here is the link: Entrepreneurs http://www.potterybarn.com/products/p7766/index.cfm?pkey=ctrack-lighting-kits spoke and said they need some processor type, but the lighting does not come with one – the customer service people and PP had no idea what he was talking. The runway lights are very light and a shower, undulating circuit – and a huge box in the final. I'm not sure if a transformer is needed for these and if so, where even appropriate?
No, It does not need a transformer. A contractor who has spoken are misinformed about the specifications of the runway lights, or is an idiot. 120V is what you have in your house, everywhere except the hair and the stove, but you have to worry about it. All your existing lighting and ankles are already 120. Transformation of 120 to 120, obviously not necessary. Make sure that no subject in light Indeed 120V input and you're good to go.
