Few question in the mud …?
Hello, I'm interested in art for some time, but I never really been interested in ceramics, until recently. I want to start. Here are some questions: What is the best type of clay to be successful? If I wanted to do the little things, how could the fire? Is there an inexpensive oven for domestic use? (Nothing crazy just a small reason) What tools are best to start? What should I buy pictures, paintings and what works best? Finally, is there a site that should be wonderful to know to help you get started?
If there are details or additional facts you should know, please do not add! Sorry if this seems absurd, you can tell I'm new. lol Thanks. Your help is greatly appreciated. : D
That's great you are interested in clay! It is an art form very interesting and diverse. Pottery, sculpture, ceramics, animation design model name is clay everywhere. The type of clay, you may want depends on what you want. If you start most basic "Sculpture Mix" will work. Clay also varies from place to place because it is actually the dirt of the earth. For smaller pieces that can be done with almost any craft store clay. Without But the bigger, you should be aware that things like clays punch shot or a fine clay particles that bind to clay and drying aid. Clay is now even including fibers and droplets of silicone that strengthens too. Regarding fire orders, which can be a little difficult but not impossible. Unless you want a bin size Large electric / gas oven at home, or even larger wood kiln in his garden, Shoot House is probably best done people experienced. Many people these days are used in home furnaces, but I recommend talking to a local art center or an institution would be willing you take your business for a small fee, depending on the amount of space that is in the oven. Usually around $ 20 or more. The tools are fairly easy, you can buy all kinds of art shops, but I think the best and cheapest you can buy at thrift stores. Knives, spoons, rollers, brushes, buckets, pieces of burlap, plastic bags, printing plates, etc. .. can be used with the clay. The best part is that clay is mainly Dirt. High-tech materials So it's not really too high, base and work very well if not better than more expensive tools. As for "paintings" or varnishes, as they tend to be mentioned, which may be simple or can become a mad scientist to create enamel Crazy and wild mixtures of other enamel bazillion recipes. If you are new to the simplicity … and perhaps avoid glazes together, and as you said that regular use of paint or dye or colored pencils or something else. This way you will not have to – Well, technically not be – referring to them. The clay is fun, keep looking, because it is much more to offer than the mud!
