learn to do pottery
Where do I start pottery and ceramics?

I want to start working with clay, and I have a facility in broad daylight at my disposal. However, how do I start? What must be addressed first? What kind of techniques I learned as a beginner? Is difficult learning curve? When will I be able to produce decent products? I'm nervous and want to start, but somewhere. Any guidance?

First, do not be nervous. Remember to make mud pies as a child? They were not nervous then why now? Even things. Unlike many, I believe that learning from the pressure cooker was hard to do. Make mine a pot chunk is difficult. Always end up looking like a third grade student and always made them crack, especially at the top. Strengthening Hand is the final game, not the starting point in my opinion. I suggest you start turning the wheel. At least do something that you can recognize as a pot. There are two main difficulties that people with a potter's wheel. The first is centering the clay. The second problem is to achieve a uniform thickness on the wall of the pot. Beginners tend to leave a lump of clay in the bottom of the pot while the top is very thin. But You can always cut the heavy at the base until you learn to do it correctly. Learning Center has someone who really only show how to properly (but many people think they know how do it right and really do not know how). Learning to produce a uniform wall thickness in the boat makes most people much longer. If you're like most people will take some time (months) before they are willing to give some of their pieces to friends. And probably be a couple of years before it actually things you would be proud to see in a gallery. There are a lot of memory to build muscles, and unfortunately, it takes some time to develop. But let me not be discouraged. It is much more important that you _something_. You can not be satisfied with their first attempts, but does not consider failures. They are simply the first step in making things you like. Check the songs we do and think about what you like or dislike them. Try to find some points that fall into each category. In other words, you should still be able to find something you like in a particular piece, and the things you do not like. Even if the document is intended for the garbage, look what you've done well – maybe a small part of a corner somewhere, or how the beginning happened. For parties that do not become, well, ask yourself how can change this? What you are going to look like what? Why not answer this part for you? What could you do next time to be more about what he wants. At some point you will have the instruction. Most of what I learned was through books and videos. I also took a couple of workshops. I have had more formal education, but this is how it worked. Robin Hopper Video is very well done. If you can not find a class, see for yourself. If possible, attend a session or two, or at least ask other students what they think about what they have learned. I saw the ceramic students teachers simply too many to leave the room full of wheels with nearly instructions. You need an instructor who can help you through trouble spots.
