Kiln Stilts
A kiln stilt fell in the middle of my large bowl and fused. Can it be removed w/ a hot torch & melt the glaz?

I think if things like that happens people carefully grind the stilt away (e.g. angle grinder, for small things dremel tool), level to the surface of the bowl. Then glaze again the missing part and refire.

I haven’t heard that somebody used a torch. It may be possible, but the heating and cooling will be at a so much quicker rate than in a kiln that it may give bad results or too much thermic stress. You could try it with some old ceramics you don’t care about. I haven’t tried it, so not quite sure what all the cons are. I think I tried if it’s possible to fire a ceramic glaze with a torch like true enamel, but that didn’t work.
