Kiln Seasoning
Good clay for a beginning sculpter?

I am a painter and would like to begin sculpting. I do not have a kiln, nor time to take any creations to a place to have it fired (I’m a mom of seven). What is the best clay to begin with given my season of motherhood besides play dough and silly putty?

Polymer Clay.

Do bare in mind there is quite a few types of clay, and some requires baking at the end. And some can be cooled off by air, but it will not have a tough exterior.

Read the articles below to know more.

Alternatively maybe you wanna try on Plaster of Paris, but its not really for sculpting purpose, more on a medium used for pottery.

To really know what and how the clay works, just go to your local art store and find out more about it.

Good luck! :)
