if an unglazed pot is placed in the middle of a shelf of unglazed pots in a kiln, what’ll happen? Explosion?
Thank you very much for the answers to my earlier question, but I need a little more detail. If all the pots in the kiln are glazed except one, would there be bad consequences?
Is the unglazed pot greenware (never had the bisque firing yet)? It might explode. Or it might not.
If it was unglazed bisqueware, it probably won’t. It’s just having a final firing, which it would have had anyway.
I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Things blow up in kilns all the time. It’s not like an anti-matter explosion. You just have to spend time picking little shards out of the kiln later.
