What does it take to become a teacher?
I love working with children. Thank you very much and that teachers are underpaid, I would still like to be a teacher. I'm back in high school and trying to think ahead. I would most probably like to teach 3rd year, but would accept any degree. What classes should I take my last years of high school? (I took the honors in physics, biology honors, [honors chemistry, marine science honors now] 1honors Algebra, Geometry Honors, Algebra 2, a little strange math right now. Spanish 1, Spanish 2, Spanish 3, English 1, english2honors, english3honors ceramics, pottery, gymnastics, history honor World Health Organization, honors American history), I'm waiting to go to a small college, then transfer to a larger home after two years. What should I major / minor? …. I'm so lost in this stuff idk what it means. Any advice or who may need other things, namely, etc?
It's great that you know what you do! Requirements for teachers vary of the condition. All States really a test of the education they need to make (many states use the Praxis). If your HS is a kind of early childhood, or any kind of face w / kids, then you should take. (AP Psychology or general) would also be good. In HS really does not matter what classes to take if you want to primary education. I would like to volunteer or get a job in a nursery or something just to get experience w / kids though. Once applied to college, I will mention the key you want basic education. With a degree in elementary education you can teach K-6. When you're in college, that will help guide you with what classes to take. Really the only thing you need now is when applied to the university to put primary education as the main. It is much easier to be accepted in ELEM. ed. first program, and then to have to do later. (and your university will guide you what classes you need to have more too). Good luck!
