Looking for a small kiln to fire porcelain pendants?
My professor had an older small kiln (approx. 1.5 ft square) that was a front loading kiln. I used it to fire my porcelain pendants I made. Now I am having a hard time finding another small kiln that will fire high enough for porcelain. I know paragon has kilns for PMC and stuff, but they only fire to 2000 degrees. Anyone have any suggestions?
I know that my small kiln (approx 8″ cubed inside area) gets up to 2500 or more. The pyrometer stops at 2500. It is a Jen-Ken. Try glass fusing or enameling kilns. Also you can take a kiln and re-wire it with the nicrome wire that has the specific temp. capabilities that you desire.
